Jon Hopkins is an artist I found pretty recently. I was glad to find him because I found him in the middle of my ambient kick recently and he's spectacular. Hopkins has worked with many other musicians as well. He started out as a keyboardist for Imogen Heap, and has since worked with the likes of Brian Eno, Coldplay, and David Holmes, just to name a few. Jon has 3 albums before this new one that is due out soon, four if you count 2010's soundtrack for the film Monsters. The new album, Immunity, features this lovely track, 'Open Eye Signal'. There's a great little remix of 'Open Eye Signal' here on xlr8r from Nosaj Thing. The regular version of the song however, has this fantastic video of a young skateboarder on an epic journey through the desert. The video flows just as well as the song and they feed off each other so well. So check it out, here's 'Open Eye Signal' from Jon Hopkins' 5th studio album Immunity, due out June 4th.
